Most stores just close and make no effort to take care of customers, but not us. As soon as I knew we were closing, I stopped selling systems immediately, and started looking for a place I could refer you to. I wanted to have some confidence that you'd be taken care of.
For onsite computer service in Portland/Vancouver, please try Portland Technology Consultants. They offer computer service, repairs, networking, etc. but strictly onsite at your business or home. While PDXTC.com is not performing MPH warranty work for free, they can be a convenient alternative to carrying your computer in somewhere to be repaired.
Another retail store has agreed to offer our customers a break, and I recommend you give them a try. They're called PC Club. They have over 40 locations on the West Coast, but just two so far in Portland. A third and fourth are scheduled for Salem and Jantzen Beach, I believe. The manager of their location on SE 82nd, Jonas Fowler, has offered you all of the following things which are good only at their single location...
1) All systems within one year of purchase from MPH Computing will receive Free Labor Warranty service. Priority Warranty Service is also available, (which basically moves you to the front of the line) and would be $25.00
2) All systems between 2 and 3 years of purchase from MPH Computing will receive a reduced labor charge of $25 dollars. Thereafter, they will receive free warranty service for problems diagnosed for either one additional year or until their Standard 3 year warranty from MPH Computing is reached, whichever is first.
3) All MPH Computing systems are warranted for labor only, not parts. Parts from MPH Computing cannot be covered under warranty by PC Club, since they did not buy them in the first place. Parts are getting cheaper as you read this anyway. Yes it's too bad, but it's also too bad that we went out of business.
Click Here for nearly every manufacturer in the world, so you can
do your own RMA (Return To Vendor). 4) All former MPH Computing customers will receive reduced pricing on Computer Parts Purchased at PC Club until 2003. (this may be extended). I think that's pretty awesome.
5) Any future upgrades done by PC Club for former MPH customers will receive labor at half price. For example, if a customer wants to install a CD writer into their MPH system the normal Labor rate is $45 then their labor rate will be $22.50. This offer is only until the year 2003 (this may also be extended).
Why would PC Club do all that? Because they want your business, that's why. Give them a try! In my opinion, they've earned it just by offering.
For those of you who want to contact me, all mail sent to scott@mphcomputing.com will still get answered, although maybe not as quickly as before.
